Team BC Achieves Canadian Junior Curling Supremacy

M&M Canadian Junior Curling Championships
Fort McMurray, AB

BC claimed the 2013 M&M Canadian Junior Women’s Curling title with a 6-3 win over Manitoba in Sunday’s final.

With the win, Corryn Brown, Erin Pincott, Sam Fisher and Sydney Fraser of Kamloops BC, bring home BC’s first Canadian Junior Curling title since 1987.

Next stop for the pride of the Kamloops Curling Club is Sochi, Russia where our girls will represent Canada at the 2013 World Junior Curling Champonships.

Team Brown Clinch Bye To Canadian Junior Finals

Team BC (KCC’s own) – Corryn Brown, Erin Pincott, Sam Fisher and Sydney Fraser – will compete for the Canadian Junior Women’s Championship this weekend having clinched a bye into the final.

Team BC, coached by Ken Brown, play at 4pm PST on Sunday February 10, 2013 for the national junior title and a trip to Sochi Russia for the World Junior Curling Championships.

The game will be televised on TSN.

At the Junior Canadian Awards ceremony, Team BC skip Corryn Brown was named to the First Team All-Stars as skip while Sydney Fraser was a Fair Play Award winner.

House Call: My Wish for Curlers in 2013 and Beyond

I have one wish for the curling community at large for 2013 and hopefully beyond. My wish is simple. One word says it all: Acceptance.

We all want a place in this world. We all DESERVE a place in this world.

The sport of curling is one many don’t begin until adulthood. Unfortunately adults are not exactly renowned for acceptance.

Tim Hortons Brier

The Host Committee for the Tim Hortons Brier extends its gratitude to everyone in Kamloops for their overwhelming enthusiasm in response to the announcement that curling’s most prestigious championship will be returning to the Interior Savings Centre March 1-9, 2014.

We are already receiving inquiries regarding ticket sales and volunteer registration, demonstrating once again the city’s ever-present sense of community spirit.

At this stage, the Host Committee is involved in the initial planning process. Announcements with respect to the introduction of full event ticket packages and volunteer enrollment will be coming in February of 2013.

Updates will be released through the local media and on the 2014 Tim Hortons Brier website at curling.ca

First and foremost, the Kamloops Curling Club boasts eight sheets of top quality curling ice. Dressing rooms and equipment rentals are available. For less than a round of golf, a day on the ski hill, a night of bowling, a game of hockey, or a night at the movies, you can take your friends or staff out for an evening of curling. Let us help you organize your event. Our professional ice maker will prepare as many sheets of ice as you require. Sliders and brooms are available for rent at a nominal cost. All you have to do is bring a pair of clean shoes (not worn outside) and a pair of comfortable pants. After the game, socialize with us in the fireside lounge located upstairs!
